October – Slow and Steady
October often is a slow and steady month, however this isn’t a bad thing. As the saying goes “slow and steady wins the race” and in terms of business I want to grow slow and steady as then hopefully have a stable business that will last for years to come.
So what have I been up to this month, I’ve attended a couple of networking events one of which was a Centenary Luncheon with the Dorchester Chamber at Kingston Maurward.
Not only did we enjoy a delicious lunch and a great speaker but there was also a tree planting ceremony to make the anniversary of the first chamber meeting.
I have also had the pleasure of photographing ‘Flying Tiger Copenhagen’ pop up shop in the Dolphin Shopping Centre. I’ve loved the tiger shop and often visit the Cardiff store whenever I visit family in Wales and now I have one on my doorstep which is great news for me but not so great for my bank account.
This month I have spent some some time away, one visit was a weekend to Otterton & we visited the ‘Old Mill’ which had a gift shop and artist gallery. There were some brilliant local artist’s who were exhibiting including Alex Vick who is a mixed media artist, all his work displayed was coastal based which I loved.
Looking forward November should be a little busier and I am definitely looking forward to the DBA’s which is a highlight of the business community. Its a brilliant event that is being held at the BIC, its a brilliant night that celebrates local business’s and its a great excuse to dress up and enjoy a wine of two.
